Two Citadel sex abuse lawsuits nearing settlement
The Citadel has settled or is in the process of settling two lawsuits by former summer camp attendees who said counselor Skip ReVille sexually abused them on the public military college’s campus, according to attorneys involved with the cases.
“I think everybody involved is satisfied and glad to put those cases behind us,” said Dawes Cooke, The Citadel’s attorney in the lawsuits John Doe Camper v. The Citadel and Camper Doe 6 v. The Citadel.
ReVille, a Citadel graduate, is one of two convicted child molesters who once worked as a counselor at the now-defunct Citadel Summer Camp. Former Marine Capt. Michael J. Arpaio pleaded guilty to indecent assault and other charges in 2003 and served 15 months in the Charleston Naval Brig.
