Sex predator likens himself to Holocaust victim, gets 69 to life
A remorseless sexual predator of children who savagely tortured two young Corinth girls over a decade was sentenced to 69 years to life in prison Tuesday, but not before delivering a rambling speech in which he quoted the Bible, New York state penal law and likened himself to a Holocaust victim.
Arthur Gannon, 48, used duct tape, rope and handcuffs to bind, gag and blindfold his small victims after grooming them for sadistic abuse that began when they were as young as 4 years old. Gannon placed bandanas down the mouths of his victims, the judge said.
Jurors convicted Gannon of a 10-count indictment charging him with predatory sexual assault; predatory sexual assault against a child; use of a child in a sexual performance, first-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. The sex offender sat and listened Tuesday in a courtroom packed with Saratoga County sheriff’s deputies and the victims, who testified at trial.
