Parents file $2.5 million lawsuit against Jay Public Schools
The parents are asking for $2.5 million, interest, costs, attorney fees and “such other and further relief to which they are deemed entitled.
The lawsuit alleges the school district, by virtue of “customs and practices and failure to adequately train on issues of child sexual abuse and its prevention,” the victim “suffered harassment based upon her gender so severe, pervasive and offensive that it deprived her of access to educational benefits or opportunities.”
The lawsuit alleges that Henton’s actions were known to school officials, but they “deliberately did not stop them” and that school officials that Henton “had the proclivity to commit same, by virtue of past history Henton had of grooming and preying on young girls and students.”
