Foster parent charged with sexual conduct with minor
A licensed foster parent who formerly sat on the Macomb County Adoption Board was arraigned today, accused of inappropriate sexual contact with a 16-year-old girl.
Jackie L. Pittman, 61, of Macomb Township is charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, both 15-year felonies, Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith said in a news release. Pittman is licensed in Michigan to be a foster parent, but no foster children currently are housed with him, according to the release.
Pittman, who appeared in a video arraignment from the county jail, was ordered held on a $25,000 bond and is to have no contact with the victim if he posts bond. Pittman told Visiting Judge Matthew Rumora that he had an attorney, with the lawyer’s business card in his wallet. He also told Rumora, who was in 41-A District Court in Shelby Township, that he did not have the funds for an attorney, but said he would borrow them.
