‘Dark web host’ appeals against US extradition
A Dublin man described by the FBI as the world’s largest facilitator of child sex abuse images will launch a Supreme Court action to stop his extradition to the US where he could be sentenced to life in prison.
Last week Eric Eoin Marques, who has Irish and US citizenship, lost both his cases in the Court of Appeal at which he had argued that he should not be extradited to America to face four charges related to Freedom Hosting, a “dark web” business he owned.
Yesterday lawyers for the state agreed not to surrender him to the US until the Supreme Court determined his application for appeal.

The CDC reports that 1 in 5 children are sexually abused.
9 out of 10 of the perpetrators are never brought to justice and never appear on sex offender registries.
They are protected by New York State laws.
